In photography a big thing that makes or breaks a photo is the lighting. So once a photo begins to be focused on the just lighting from shadows it becomes crucial to get it right. Not only the presence of light is important but also the absence. It adds contrast and depth in an image, to help it be more visual and eye catching. Often shadows in photos are unwanted but at times shadows can be in an important element to a photo to add emotion or help guide they eye of the viewer. It has many important elements that sometimes get over looked.
With taking this photo, I tried to make sure that Vanessa's shadow was the main element of the photo. I thought it was interesting to play around with shadows. Out of all the article they gave helpful tips of how to really perfect a photo that uses shadow. I like the end result I took. Lighting was a big part of taking this photo which really reflected how many attempts were need to get good light. I think that the darker image makes the shadow stand out more instead of having it over exposed.
